And i feel like a dmbass now as wiping the cables down and putting them back in seems to have fixed it. Working display port. Wooo.

New monitor arrived and trying to connect it via displayport since it supports G-Sync. However i can't get my PC to output a signal to it that way. HDMI works fine but Display port doesn't no matter which port on the back of my GPU i plug it into (Monitor is an Asus Swift PG279Q, GPU is a 2080Ti).

Sorry was unclear i'm getting a no displayport signal detected error from the monitor. Hence why i assume my PC isn;t putting a signal out and is somehow locked to HDMI.

 

Hmmm thought occurs, let me try cleaning the ends, i know i've had that issue with old 3.5mm audio jacks that haven't been used in a while, (my dad had it once with his DJ equipment, nearly blew both our eardrums)...
