So I am trying to use a M2 NVME SSD for extra storage on my desktop, The drive came out of my dead laptop (the screen stopped working) and was used for as the main OS drive, but when I connect it I get a message apon booting "M2 genie error" and my PC refuses to boot with it connected

I'm connecting the SSD via a PCI X4 to M2 adaptor and not sure why it won't work

Also yes windows is still on the drive but I can't wipe it, since in my bios Secure Erase either doesn't detect it or just doesn't wanna work and I can't boot to clean it either
