Hello, i am planing to upgrade my current setup. I already decided that i will go for 9900k but not going to oc much, maybe just a little bit, so after reading some reviews seems like noctua dh15 will keep up with it(can't fit any aio cooler in that case, but read that noctua may actually fit(or just leave without lid)). I need help in choosing mb and ram. As for price, somewhere in midrange+ would be nice. Also i have doubts about power supply, will it be enough? Thanks for any advices

My recommendation would be look at the lower end Gigabyte Z390 Motherboards. They have great VRMs and VRM cooling, pretty good features and will support the 9900K out of the box in most cases (bios update still recommended for optimal memory performance as most gigabyte bios updates are memory/RAM-centric).

For ram, check the QVL memory list of your particular motherboard choice on Gigabyte's site. Get a good set from that and you should be set. I would also recommend getting a better PSU to be safe. Something in the 650+W range.

One thing to keep in mind, both RAM and PSUs, 99% of RAM chips are made by SKHynix, Samsung or Micron. The brand you're buying at most, sets the timings in XMP and maybe they make the hearspreader and/or PCB. So buy whatever brand fits what you like the look or settings of, don't be brand bias about RAM. for PSUs, there are a few more makers than that, but a lot of brands use the same components, the majority of PSUs use quality parts now, just don't buy some off brand no one's ever heard of. Get one from Seasonic, Corsair, eVGA, BeQuiet or similar.

Primary Rig:

CPU: AMD 7800X3D @ Stock PBO - Mobo: Gigabyte X670E AORUS Master

2 x 48GB G.Skill Trident Z Royal 6400MHz CL32 1.35V @ 6200MHz CL28-37-32-30 1.5V (still tuning)

CPU Cooler: EK AIO that will be being replaced when I get the chance - PSU: eVGA P2 1200W

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC @ either 2595MHz @ 900mV or 2970MHz @ 1070mV

Case: Thermaltake View 91 - SSDs/HDDs: 1 Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, 2 990 Pro 2TB M.2s, 1 990 Pro 4TB M.2, 1 TeamGroup Cardea Z440 2TB M.2, 1 Seagate EXO X10 10TB HDD

Monitor: Samsung Odyssey G9 49" Super-Ultrawide 240Hz Monitor

So this build should be fine? I am going to buy one ram kit at first, and later other, to save some money. Maybe will consider changing case later also.

I would go for faster RAM if possible.  At least 3200MHz with a CL of 14 or so. Something like this: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232217&ignorebbr=1 It's a bit more expensive, but it's also very likely Samsung B-Die, which if you ever want to OC your memory, will perform the best.

This motherboard doesn't support anything above 2666, so  need different one

It supports higher speeds, the native DDR4 speed for modern boards is 2666. Anything over that is considered "an overclock".

https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/Z390-AORUS-ELITE-rev-10#kf 100% it supports higher speeds ??

If you can squeeze out extra money (and that case can fit it, I'm not familiar with it), I'd get an AIO cooler.

thats why im going for noctua, i can't fit any of AIO's without anglegrinding case, but noctua may fit well or i can just bend lid abit, cause i read somewhere that there should be minimal clearance issues. But aren't d15 as good as most of AIO's?
