I’ve recently started using a Display Port cable with my 144hz monitor in order to get the monitor to actually run at 144hz, but I’ve encountered some issues. For a couple days all went smooth I was going about my day with a lovely 144 frames until one morning when I turned my computer, the monitor displayed ‘No signal’. This was easily fixed by restarting my computer, however the issue persisted for a couple days, requiring me to restart my computer after booting it in order for my monitor to display anything. I thought this in itself was an odd issue but I didnt care that much because it seemed to be easily solved. However one day restarting my computer didnt work, I tried all I could think of until I found another DP cable which when plugged in worked (from memory) instantly. Not long after I starting using this DP cable though the same issue came about, requiring me to restart in order to do anything until finally this DP cable stopping working. Now the only thing that works is a DVI cable, not this wouldnt be an issue but for some reason everytime I set my monitor from 59hz to 144hz, it reverts instantly. When I was using an HDMI changing it to 144hz wasnt even avaliable, so it seems weird to me that now it is avalible but doesnt work. I press apply with 144hz selected and once the monitor returns from being black its still at 59hz.

Essentially I have two issues;

Im unsure if my 3 DP are all buggered or if perhaps the DP input on my GPU (RX 480) or on my monitor (AOC G2460PF) are bugged and perhaps causing these cables to die somehow…??

Also I’ve no idea why my DVI isnt allowing me to run my monitor at 144hz

Any comments or help would be greatly appreciating as I can no longer cope with just 59 frames.

got the same monitor. remember to turn it off after use.

to fix the issue: flip the powerswitch on the monitor and drain its capacitors by attempting to turn it on.

after that you flip the switch back on and it should have resolved itself.
