So to start off, here are my PC Specs -

  • Intel Core i7 8086K
  • Asus Prime Z370-A
  • 16 GB DDR4 3200MHz G-Skill Ripjaws RAM
  • 750W EVGA PSU 80+ Gold
  • Zotac AMP! Extreme 1080
  • ThermalTake Core P5
  • Sandisk Ultra II SSD

PERIPHERALS:

  • AZIO MK Armato Mechanical Keyboard
  • Corsair Glaive Aluminum RGB mouse
  • BeyerDynamic DT-990 Pro (Black Ltd Edition)
  • Audio Technica AT2020
  • M-Audio 2x2 Audio Interface

Main Issue

My PC started whining as it froze up, audio and graphics included, at first I thought it was PSU coil whine but further auditory inspection lead me to believe it was the CPU area (not sure what exactly)

Now this started a few months ago, and I thought I narrowed it down to my Audio Interface in which when freezing up it would often BSOD and state it was the audio interface that caused this.

I have tried different drivers for it, now it is unplugged, all drivers are suspended and I have the latest BIOS running Windows 10 x64. I still get some freezes and whine but not as frequent and would like to know if anyone has had this problem? - My CPU is not overclocked however it was overclocked on watercooling and was running stable but since this problem I've put everything to default including XMP.

(This issue happens randomly, playing games, on desktop, watching videos etc and the temps are fine)

What are your temps ?  CPU temp GPU temp on idle and on load ?  Was this setup working fine ever ?

It could be the PSU coil whine and not stable.

This setup was working fine, it randomly just started happening out of the blue, I doubt it is PSU coil whine as it doesn't sound like it's in the PSU area, the temps are fine, max I've had was around 80c under load but idle is around 17c for CPU ( depending on room temp ) and around the same for GPU load but around 35c on idle .
