So i suppose this is the most recent problem with MX... It will only boot with the laptop power plugged in, else it just sits at starting network manager. It also does not sleep or power off while unplugged. This is kind of important, as i need to be able to close the lid and have it hibernate when i am not using it (the battery is crap on this laptop)
