Recently in the past 2-3 months, mayube longer I have been noticing some performance issues during gaming and I can't figure out the reason. I have mostly been playing Overwatch and Apex:Legends

My Specs are:

Core i5 7600k @3.8ghz

8GB EVGA FTW GTX 1070

MSI xPower Gaming Titanium Z270

8GB DDR4 3000 Corsair Dominator

120GB Corsair Force LS SSD

2TB SSHD

1TB HD

27" 1080p 144Hz Samsung Curved Monitor

So the issue is a noticable drop in framerate making for stuttery gameplay. I like to play on high settings as I know my PC can handle it in both games and deliver 144FPS, yet every minute or so I see the counter just randomly blip to below 100FPS for a second and everything just freezes in place. Now the games have even been starting to crash.

I have run a 3dMark Time Spy bench test and achieved a score of 5840 and a 3dMark Fire Strike test and achieved a score of 14954. This was done on 19/02/2019 and 20/02/2019 respectively. I have also run a MemTest86 today on 04/03/2019 which provided 0 errors, and malware and virus scans which also provided 0 errors.

I should mention that a while back almost 12 months ago I had a slight cooling issue for my CPU. I have an NZXT Kraken 62 and around that time the CAM software was temperamental at best and often times wouldn't allow me to log on to see my temps. One day I managed to get into the software and to my shock and horror the pump speed was at 0 when it should have been 50% (the pump had failed) I also noticed that my CPU temp was above 90c, so I quickly turned off the PC and didn't turn it back on until i got my replacment.

Unfortunately I can't determine how long my PC had been operating under these conditions, but I never recieved an overheating warning or anything and the PC has been working fine (except this) ever since.

What are the best plans of attack as the computer is less than 2 years old so I don't want to throw money at it, if there are other solutions first.

Thanks.

I say you get DDU "Display Driver Uninstaller" and use it in safe mode and do a cleant and restart, then your back up into normal mode now install the latest graphics drivers.  Let us know.

Right, so I did as mentioned and then reinstalled my drivers. I haven't noticed much difference and the framerate is still dipping constantly and i have placed the majority of settings on medium. I am still going to carry on testing to get a more thorough idea. Is there a way I can record PC performance during gaming for reviewing?

use HWinfo64 for temps and fan/pump speeds
