Barcode Verifier Software

Hi all,

 

Where to begin ! We currently use a barcode verifier for our labels and packaging. One of the managers in charge of that department wants to try to use a different software than the proprietary software provided with the hardware. to speed up process and lessen errors or fails. Does anyone know of any non-proprietary software that works with barcode verifiers ? Would be a big help ! although I haven't seen any and don't think there's much luck for this.

It would help if you can explain the system in more detail. Like what is the method of entry? What is the software supposed to do exactly (verify the barcode of something to a database entry? Enter in something to a database? What?)? Where do you think the pitfalls are that make the process less useful to you (we can't exactly give you a better system if we don't know why the current one is unsatisfactory)?

Keyence AutoID is the software. We use it for grading barcodes for ISO ceretification. They have to pass a grading system to be acceptable for sell. We manufacture medical products. We run the system on a Windows machine. It's not that it doesn't work. We are trying to speed up the process do to be time consuming and they create alot of labels with barcodes everyday. also customer would like a report printed and shipped to them with labels. The software we use doesn't provide that feature, which the only work around is a screenshot. Which is not ISO spec acceptable.
