Bad Experience with Zotac

Has anyone else had any bad experiences with Zotac? I bought a refurbished 1080 AMP from their online store on the 20th. I received the new (to me) card on the 26th. It was dead on arrival, now they are making me pay return shipping.

The only reason I went with them was because they had the cheapest used 1080. Now I am regretting not going with a manufacturer with better customer service. Lesson learned. Never buying from Zotac again. I will have in total paid around $50 in shipping fees (if the replacement works)

I should be studying.

Demand to speak to the manager! this has always worked for me. You could also always threaten to challenge the charge on your credit card because the product did not arrive in working condition.

I don't know much about US consumer laws, but it can't be possible that you will have to pay for return shipping if a product is DOA?
You paid for a working product, and they failed to deliver a working product.

Those are good ideas. I opened a chat on their website, their phone just goes to voicemail. I didn't get any reply by email. I submitted a BBB complaint, but I hear BBB doesn't do anything.

I should be studying.

BBB wont do anything for you.

Your credit card company can AND WILL.  If you in fact received a DOA card, and their response is to charge you money to return it, than I would go to my credit card company and have them reverse the transaction (they will) and then Zotac can deal with my credit card company.

When Newegg does any BULL**** with me (I order bi-daily for the most part) I give them two options, make it right or my credit card company will.  They always make it right, because they don't have the funds (nor in the right) to fight the legal battle with a CC company.

Your Credit Card company will most certainly back you especially if you have any emails from Zotac.

Luckily it sounds like it won't come to that. I finally talked to someone that helped me out. I am getting free return shipping, but now the card is out of stock :/ who knows what I will get as  a replacement.

I should be studying.

If it were me, I would cancel the entire transaction.  You just got a smidge of a TASTE of what Zotac stands for in customer service (even if its a 1 off situation, that doesn't make me feel good).  Let them take their junk card back, and you get your money back.  Part ways, or....fool me once...shame...shame on you...fool me twice...shame...shame on me.
