Hey everyone for a while I've been having this issue. I'll try to describe it the best I can.

Specs:

CPU: i5 650

GPU: Asus direct cu Gts 450

Memory: 6gig Samsung idk the rest

PSU: cooler master 450v

The problem:

For awhile now I have this issue where if I turn off my computer completely it won't boot. Sometimes it boots after constant power switching on and off on the back and draining it while it's off.

The weird thing is that it works complete ly fine if I just restart it through Windows and don't turn it off completely.

What happens when it turns off is ill hit the power switch and the fans of the cpu and psu spin for a one tenth of a second and stop.

I tried to solve it myself but I'm not good at it. Only clue I might've found is that when I turn off the cpu power cable the fan spins for a little longer. I'm sorry if this isn't well formatted and articulated I'm on my phone thanks to anyone who tries to help.

The first thing you can try, is to reset the cables, memory and GPU.

You can also do a clear CMOS and flash the BIOS.

If it still happens, it could be a power supply problem, you could try with an other power supply, to see if you have the same issues.

The processor and thus the motherboard are old.

You maybe have a motherboard problem.

Thanks for the reply I found a quite large dustbuny in the back of my motherboard stuck between it and the case could that cause a short and prevent it from starting?
