Secure Erase

CoreV

Hi guys,

I got an SSD I want to use as a booter for Windows but I got it used. I’m running a Z270 Carbon MB and in bios have the option ‘Secure Erase+’ in advanced. Can I use this option to wipe that SSD clean for the OS?

When you install windows, just delete each partition on the SSD before clicking next, and you'll be good. I'd reccomend unplugging every other drive so the SSD will be the only one in the list

No real need to use secure erase, which is more for if you're getting rid of the drive and want to really clean it of personal data

I realized I can use cmd as well to clean it when I get to the partition step.
