Hey, I am looking to build an emulation box pc. I have never built a PC but just want to have a crack at it for this.

want to keep it as cheap as possible but still make certain that it is capable of emulating all of the retro games as well as the newer stuff such as PS3 and Wii U.

any advice on where to start finding components and what I need would be great, I am very much a beginner at this.

thanks.

hoping to try and stay well under $1000 if possible

the graphic are not demanding on emulators,

ps3 (rpcs3) and wiiu (cemu) have developed quite well over past year.

wiiu needs a bit more optimization but already considered very playable.

ps3 is very cpu hungry. some demanding games are currently running at 20fps.

suggest a strong cpu for that(more than 9 thread heavily used).

ideally i9 9900k but ryzen 2700 is also very good.
