BAD HARDDRIVE CAUSING SCREEN FREEZ

just hard ware waiting on the spinning hardware to declare itself in my opinion  happens to me with my 3tb hdd can hear it spin up on the go like the wopper in wargames and it generaly freezes up my computer for maybe 3seconds although i have an osx install on it and this probly affects the timing and rejection etc that would be my guess

Some hard drives do this. I have had this too. Check the SMART on the drive and see if it is okay. If you suspect it is failing, backup and get a new drive.
