Shutdown problems

PSU: corsair hx850i

gpu: asus strix 1080ti (custom watercooled)

cpu: ryzen 1700 (oc to 3.7ghz)

mobo: asus strix b350

 

I have had shutdown problems where my monitor would shut off as normal, but my rgb (ram, gpu, mobo) would stay on along with my pump and all case fans (pc was still on).  The only way i could power it down was to shut off my psu.  I have updated the bios and have all latest drivers and widows updates.  5 days ago I reseated all of my cables (which are stock) and this seem to fix it temperately.  Now 5 days later the same problem is present.  All of my components are brand new and have worked great for the past 1.5 years.  My pc is fairly dusty as I have not cleaned it in a while.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

I would say recheck your case wires are in the mobo properly, but if you didn’t change anything it most likely isn’t that. I would make sure nothing is accidentally unplugging wires and making it nonfunctional.

This is a WInblows problem your hardware and setup is just fine and dandy.  You can blame Uncle Billy for this.  Also your not guaranteed a fix if you format and clean install and what not.  Perhaps the April update will tackle the issue, but I wouldn't bet on it.
