No. If you're going to game on a 1080p monitor with 60hz, there is no reason to spend extra on displayport. However, if you are going to game on something like 4k, or 1440p or 120/144hz then maybe.

I will be gaming on one 23" IPS panel monitor, so HDMI?

Yes. The one you linked earlier is a good monitor. Displayport and DVI do have more functionality in them, but quite frankly for your use case I wouldn't bother. It sounds like you already have a video card and so there is absolutely no reason to change that out. Use hdmi, the rest of the world does. It's a perfectly good connector for 99% of people despite what everyone says.

Nothing bad, i prefer it over a dvi cable cause its smaller, if going to higher resolutions Dual Link DVI is much better, since HDMI can only handle 4k at 30hz i think?

HDMI is fine. Don't see anything wrong in using it as it just outputs an image. A useful usage for displayport is if you want to daisy chain monitors.

Until someone gives me a good argument not to, I'll just keep using HDMI. The connector is not the best thing since sliced bread, but it's OK. Remember, not all DVI are created equal!
