Screeching sounds?

running HP Pavilion 15-au136tx:

Lately this PC keeps screeching randomly regardless of what state the PC is in. When the noises occur it can sustain for as much as few minutes and stops, and repeats again after one minute or so. Even when the PC is completely shut down it still makes such noise (albeit less noisy) unless I unplug the AC from it. The only 'workaround' for now is to unplug AC (which shuts off HDD I assume?), but the screeching occurs again few minutes after I plug my AC back in. HDD seems doing fine accessing data without any noticeable lags/delays from what I notice.

Any idea which exact part is at fault?

Below is the onboard HDD in question (possibly Western Digital's):

WDC WD10JPVX-60JC3T0 - 931.51 GB

SMART Status: Good

 

to be clear, I'm not 100% sure if it's a problem on HDD, I can only guess at this point.

HDDs will tend to be more lower pitch, grinding or a serious of clicking. Is it a very high pitched, whining sound? Like a "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" noise? Sounds like it's more of an issue with your power supply and you're experiencing particularly bad coil whine.

Oh, it's a laptop? Does the noise only happens when the power brick is plugged in to wall and the laptop is charging? If you run the Laptop just on battery does it still make the noise?
