Need a lil help

I have an i5 7600k and a GTX 1080 SC.  I have noticed that when I am playing my oculus that it sometimes freezes and my CPU usage is above 90%.  Is the 8600k a good upgrade or should I upgrade to something else?

You would need a new motherboard as the 8600k is not compatible with the same motherboards your 7600k uses.

I wouldn't bother upgrading from a 7600k to 8600k though. While there would be some performance improvement, I don't think it would be worth the cost.

 

Do you currently have a z170/z270 motherboard? If so, try overclocking your 7600k to improve performance.

I currently have an Asus ATX DDR Intel LGA 1151 SATA III (6Gbit/s) Gaming/Aura Motherboard (B150 PRO)

If it's a b150 motherboard you won't be able to overclock the CPU.

 

Maybe someone with more experience with the oculus can help you out.

Damn ok.  I need to upgrade my mobo anyways lol.  Now to find a mobo and CPU. Aka do I want AMD or intel lol
