Im planning to do some nice overclocking on a build coming up. I got offered a g1+ 650w for $45 never been used from a friend. Will this suit my needs? I know that its listed as a tier 2 psu which is pretty good but people on other websites such as the buildapc discord tell me thats its just okay and probably will not suit my needs for overclocking

yup, a "tier 2" psu is perfectly fine, i don't know why they insist that tier 2/b is for "facebook machines" (aka i3+igpu"), so that the GPU is 20% of total system cost. I would be content putting a tier 2 psu (say G1+ 850W) with a 9980Xe (stock)

it should be 5-10%, minimum of 30-40$.

Nah with super expensive stuff like that I would most definitely go at least for a P2 or something, this is just a 1070 ti, r5 2600 system

yeah, but you won't be superworried, like if you were using the worse psu for a month, or something like that.
