HBCD Alternative

After using HBCD (Hiren's Boot CD) for years it's feeling pretty dated.  Is there a newer alternative with similar functionality?  I've already loaded up a usb drive with Windows To-Go and some recovery software (antivirus, antimalware, etc) but it doesn't really seem to have the flexibility or the "muscle" that HBCD did.  I did see Hiren’s BootCD PE but haven't gotten a chance to use it yet.  Has anyone else checked it out?  Is it safe to use?
