Definitely a new CPU, and along with that probably Mobo and maybe RAM if you go DDR4. Other than that maybe a 1-2 TB storage drive.

I take it your main goal is gaming ?

if so - CPU + Mobo + Ram

SSD/GTX 980/Case are still good or at least "fine"

In your case you could opt for a lower end AM 4 Board + 16 GB DDR4 Ram at 3000+ Mhz and a Ryzen 5 2600 which would make for a great upgrade.

Yeah probably upgrade your CPU and platform, 980 is still really nice and should be fine.

Yeah 16 gigs would be nice bit more expensive tho and I want to keep this mb cuz I think it looks nice and has possibilities

Mainboard is one thing you can save a few bucks on imo - you arent taking the highest end CPU and honestly these days unless you do high end overclocking or need specific features you can go with a lower end one... (within reason as in keeping to reputable brands)
