I currently have 1333 ddr3 sticks lying around and about to buy an old i7 3770 system. The mothboard is an Asus H61m-e which supports ram oc upto 2200mhz.
Does this actually work? Even tho Intel on their website said i7 3770 only supports ddr3 1333/1600...

Theres a great deal on my local shop and thinking of getting it

You can overclock the memory.

I'd shoot for 1866 or 2133 Mhz, depending on what limitations you run into.

Is there alot of gains frim 1866 to 2133?

I wouldn't count them as noticeable gains, so they probably don't mean too much anyway for the average user.

It's kind of like Ryzen(since Ryzen loves fast memory) with DDR4-2133 vs DDR4-3200, pretty much only the high end power users will notice a real difference between the two speeds.

I was listing those two since I wouldn't count too much on your board(or memory) being capable of going beyond 2133, and 1866 is a pretty good speed for DDR3.
