Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. My computer would sometimes just partially freeze. Like you can move and click on things and right click with options showing up but once you click it, it looks like it went through but the application doesn't open. While watching a video on youtube it just stops. I tried to open task manager but when I click on it, it looks like it went through but nothing happens. I tried using run to open it, nothing happens as well.

Thanks

How long have you had Windows 10 installed?

This, to me, sounds like one of those problems where I'd probably just end up having to "reset" windows, or reinstall it if it was an older version without the reset option.

3 years is a long time, at least for me. I find operating systems lose stability after a year or max two years. You have some kind of antivirus right? If not try downloading malwarebytes and running it.

Also, ccleaner has kind of become noob tier, made for the general public, but it can still help clean up a lot of old crap including useless registry entries and that has the potential to help.

I have Norton security, so it's not malware. so I don't really know what else to do.

Can you see what the resource usage is when this happens? High disk usage? RAM? CPU? GPU?

No, I can't, as I've mentioned there is no way for me to open task manager.

This could be a bad sign.

Quick question how long does it take the right context menu if you click the right mouse button on the desktop to show up with nothing already open?

If it takes 30 seconds or more then use:

https://osdn.net/projects/crystaldiskmark/downloads/68567/CrystalDiskMark5_5_0.exe/

To check the hard drive is still healthy.

So you are signed in as administrator and can't access the task manager?

That is troubling.

Try the process explorer

https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/process-explorer/

Also have you defraged the computer in those three years?

If not use https://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag/
