I want to share a hard drive issue that I had experienced just now that happened miserably and got fixed miserably.

I have two drives in my computer, one is a Crucial MX500 as a boot drive and for any software (like PS and Steam); along with a Seagate 2TB Barracuda, for storage and games.

The issue happened twice for the 2TB drive by far and got fixed the same way. Which was during me using the computer, all the sudden I could not write or control any file from any of the partitions that were on the 2TB drive. An example such as Steam was updating the game and the writing speed showed 0 MB/s and the update would just fail; also I would not be able to delete any file from any of those partitions.

Reboot was my first attempt, but not only it took so long to turn off but when it turned back on, I was facing the "scanning and repairing the drive" for all the partitions in my 2TB drive. It eventually turned on but in the file explorer, besides the SSD, none of the other drives had the volume bar and none could be accessed and control - and immediately went into non-response mode. It is in Device Management, but Disk Management would be stuck at loading.

I thought that was a hard drive issue, so I sent it to the Tech Department in our school to see if they can scan it, and the response was the hard drive was totally fine.

This was fixed, through the dumbest way possible IMO, I switched the SATA cable of Seagate drive to a different SATA port on the MB, and it worked. I doubt that the SATA port was the issue because of the SSD worked just fine on the one I assumed that was broken...

Wondering why...
