So I'm currently looking into upgrading my GPU and I'm trying to decide of this is a good deal or not. There 8s a seller offering Gigabyte FE 1070s for $220, and Asus FE 1070s for $200. The cards were used for under a year by a student game making enterprise. Would you guys say the cards are worth the cost, or should I look into a different card. Also how are FE cards with cooling, because I'm concerned about overheating, though I don't plan to OC the card.

FE cards run hot and loud. Expect to hit that 83 degree threshhold and start dropping clocks often. Most FE 1070's get somewhere in the ballpark of 1800mhz out of the box where aftermarkets usually get closer to 2ghz. Not a massive performance gap, maybe around 5%, but the FE will also be running a lot louder and higher pitched.

Hello and how are you?

They're not bad GPUs however those type of models(FE) usually are hotter and louder since they use a blower fan.

I'm strongly recommend getting a thrid party brand like asus, gigabyte, galax.

But what is your current pc?

(CPU, MoBo, RAM, PSU)?

And we thank you for your service :)

Those prices are pretty good.  I'd be okay with living with a blower card for the cost savings.

I do know they made some AIO liquid coolers for the FE cards, and (IIRC) the 1080 and 1070 used the same PCB layout, so the 1080 FE coolers should work on the 1070, opening your options.  You might be able to get one of those cards + an AIO Hybrid for less than a dual/triple fan model.

@RAM555789 I see.

You have a good PC. But a Z370 with a cpu that can't overclock in my humble opinion it's stupid. Unless in the near future you wan to upgrade. But in this case you might need a better Motherboard who has a better VRM.

Instead of using 2 HD why didn't you get a 1060 or even a RX 580?

The components have been bought overtime, along with the fact that I also need that much space hard drive wise. A lot of games I play are 40GB+ and then when you add in mods and stuff it can get pretty crazy. Arma 3 alone has over 100GB when you take into account all the mods I use with it. I don't plan to overclock but rather just upgrade to an i7-8700 as I will still get about on par performance or slightly better performance in gaming when compared to a Ryzen 2700. On top of the fact that I already have a motherboard for the 8700 it doesn't make much sense for me to switch over to Ryzen right now. When I got this gaming setup GPU prices were also inflated due to the mining markets and AMD cards were extremely hard to come

I see, you play arma 3 also? Cool i love it. Although i'm a noob hahaha.

This motherboard won't have any problems with non-overclockable CPU.

But the 1050 ti its a medium GPU, recommend for medium setting in 1080p.
