My system has a 2600x with the stock wraith spire cooler. and while I'm playing fortnite and other games my computer will sometimes just freeze. i have realized this is because my CPU is auto overclocking itself to like 4.6 and my temps are skyrocketing. I have no idea how I can stop it from doing this. the method I use now is just using AMD Ryzen master but having to open that and change the settings every time I boot is annoying and sometimes I forget. any help? my mobo is an asrock ab350 pro4 if that helps, idk

If temps are too high the chip should not be using XMP, what temps are you getting specifically?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

idling is all over the place, like 45-50. in fortnite its around 60-65

if max temps are 65 then temps are not the issue

What tells you your CPU is getting up to 4.6GHz?  I don't that's actually true.

And what settings have you set in Ryzen Master?  Can you show us?

Also, have you changed anything in your BIOS?
