The 2070 is a bit quicker than a 1070Ti. You can compare the 2070's performance with a 1080. SLI is basically senseless for gaming, resulting performance depends on how well SLI is implemented in a specific game/program and usually you'll be better off just investing in a new, better card.

The RTX 2060 made the RTX 2070 a bad value card. It's some 10% weaker while being 30ish % cheaper.

Go for the 2060 instead. Aproximately same price but better. Mine beats the fastest 1080 in Superposition here.

2060 is more like the 1080 than the 2070. And price per perfomance the 2070 isnt rly worth it compared to the 2060.

more value oriented build. when you have less than 1400$ there is little reason to grab an intel CPU, it is simply not worth it for the other sacrifices you will make to get the budget to add up.

I would go more like this. Tbh. even buy a used Am4 CPU untill Ryzen 3rd gen comes out.
You can save 30$ on going 1st gen Ryzen and gain 2 more cores. And then get a 3700x when it comes out.
Im currently sitting on my own 1500x waiting for 3rd gen ryzen.
