macbook pro

Can a macbook pro mid 2012 perform almost the same as a macbook pro retina mid 2014 if I install 8gb ram in it?

I know, but the price difference is almost 200 euros :/ I can buy 2x4gb ram for 67 euros. Is it worth it?

Haha te price difference is 200 euros, not the laptop. The 2012 goes for around 500, and the 2014 for 700-750 euros

I wouldn't pay another 200 for the small difference in performence. but I wouldn't pay 500 for a 2012 either.

 

but that might be personal, I would hackingtosh something like a matebook

And if I do so, how can I put a macOS on it?

Anyway, I'd say get the 2014 for 700 euros because it's better overall and it's just 200 euros more (133 if you upgrade the RAM on the 2012 model)
