Which is better?

I plan on buying a motherboard with a Z97 chipset and i have two options, a Asus Maximus vii gene Z97 and Msi Z97s Krait edition? I like the colour scheme of the Msi but i must also consider performance and i don't know which one to take? 

CPU: i5 4670k @4.1ghz | GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 G1 Gaming 6GB | MB: Gigabyte Z97P-D3H | RAM: 4x4GB Generic | SSD: Gigabyte 240GB  

PSU: Antec High Current Gamer 650 watt | Case: Cougar MX330G

there really isnt a performance penalty by using either motherboard.

i have both and they overclock the same. memory overclocking on the gene is a bit better, but thatd be splitting hairs.

buy on cost, features and aesthetics (your actual need).

i prefer the gene for the intel NIC and rear i/o (USB ports) over that realtek NIC in the krait.
