Wireless network adapter malfunctioning

Just now, Yocracra said:

So recently, my wireless network adapter malfunctioned, as windows told me, so I got a new adapter. This time a TP Link. Yet once again, I’m getting the same malfunction message, and no WIFI signals are showing up.

We need *waaaaaay* more info than that, if we are going to help.

System specs, screenshots of the error message, etc

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Sorry for the lack. It’s not connected by any PCIE. It’s on a USB, and I tried switching ports, but the same thing happened. I’m not able to get any more photos than this, but sometime during the weekend I should. But I’m getting this massage saying something close to: “The last device you plugged in has malfunctioned. Please check your device.”

Try downloading and installing the drivers from the manufacture's website https://www.tp-link.com/us/download/Archer-T2UH.html#Driver

Should be the first one (assuming you have hardware version 2)

And make sure in the network adapter settings, it is enabled. Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings > right click your adapter and click enable.

Well, I’m currently at a lake, but tomorrow I’ll try downloading the other driver. Also, when I open the driver that’s already installed, it won’t actually open. Nothing happens, and according to task manager, no new tasks related to the driver are introduced.

Newsflash! I come back, and it's suddenly working again! Is there any way to possibly avoid this in the future?

Hard to say. Maybe Windows figured its shit out after a few restarts and some up time. It may have finally grabbed the right driver? Who knows, but glad it's working.

So, it stopped working again, but I found my way on fixing it with these steps:

Hold down shift and restart your computer from the Windows (10) menu. Go to troubleshooting, advanced, startup settings, and press restart.

When a list of startup options shows up, press 5.

Once in safe mode, you can press Windows+R, then type control into the box. Once in the control panel, you can go to programs and features, then delete the driver.

Then just redownload it off the disk.
