Ivy Bridge processor housing

I have a HP Pavillion HPE h8 series prebuilt with an i7 3770. The motherboard has a proprietary cpu cooler and processor housing bracket that are one piece, instead of the cpu housing bracket being underneath the cooler bracket, it's one piece. I want to put my old cryorig c7 on it, but that means I need a new processor housing that's seperate and the bracket be thin enough the cryorig bracket sits on top. Is there any on sale anywhere, or will I have to buy a cheap ivy bridge mobo (which is hard to find lol) and switch it over to mine

Could you post a picture? A quick Google Image search didn't show any motherboards with non-standard retention mechanism, and you got me curious.

Does the bracket come off ? When I bought this fan kit, it came with everything and extra universal parts.   I'm pretty sure that bracket comes off but you might need a special tool.

Does your motherboard look like the first photo ?   I think you are only limited to HP stuff and will have to maybe look for refurbished parts to replace any parts.

 

The 2nd photo is my board and the screw mounts are closer to the CPU. I dunno if that Universal Bracket is large enough and might need a larger one ?

Leave the CPU housing alone and you should be able to remove the bacplate and use the plasic H7 backplate. The first board looks like my Lenovo Mobo did, and I was running an h7 there.

The screws are flush with the cryorig bracket, so theres no way to put a nut on them, and also I meant c7, not h7. They have the same bracket so it doesn't matter.

For lga1155 the h7 (and presumably the c7) has a backing plate, long screws that insert from the back, approximately 12mm plastic spacers that fit over said screws, and thumbscrew nuts to secure the cooler. Not sure how old your cooler is or what parts your missing but your CPU socket is normal and you're looking at it wrong.

Correction there are no nuts, the screw com from the back, through the Mobo and spacers, and thread into the cooler arms.
