Laptop temperatures concern (Celsius)

Hello everyone!

So I've left the peasant-spec community about a week ago (I'm talking intel hd graphics, intel pentium etc) and got myself a replacement after months of carefully picking what would work the best for me.

I decided to go with the HP Pavilion Gaming 15

8GB DDR4 2166MHz RAM

i5-8300H (Quad Core 2.3 GHz)

GTX 1050Ti 4GB

7200 RPM 1 TB HDD and a 256GB SSD

Screen is 1080p at 60Hz

So since I've been struggling to game on my old lenovo laptop for the last 5 years I'm taking no chances on this one since I'm unable to buy a new one for the next 4-5 years.

That is why I wanted to ask you guys about the temperatures I'm getting.

The idle temperatures (as I'm writing this) are no problem, 29-31 degrees, I'm concerned about the gaming temperatures

In games like GTA V on very high settings I'd get about 70 degrees, where in some other games I hit up to 90 degrees.

To give you guys the most accurate information to work with I tested the following games on the stated settings and their temperatures after a few minutes of gaming

I used an external laptop fan for this aswell:

CS:GO: Max settings - averaging about 180 fps

             Min: 55-60 Degrees

             Max: 92-94 Degrees

Garry's Mod: Max settings - averaging about 200 FPS

                     Min: 58 Degrees

                     Max: 79-85 Degrees

GTA V: Purposefully put beyond on what I would play on - averaging 40-50 FPS

             Min: 49 Degrees

             Max: 65 Degrees

War Thunder: Max settings - averaging about 70 FPS

                      Min: 60 Degrees

                      Max: 73 Degrees

There are also some other games that I play that I currently do not have the time to test, but I will post the temperatures here if you guys want:

PAYDAY 2 - This is known to be 85-95 degrees ever since I played it on the new laptop

Unturned - This aswell, but the minimum temperature is lower, I'm talking like 75-80 degrees minumum

Hearts of Iron IV

PES 18

The last 2 don't have any heating issues.

I'm making this post to get your guys' opinion on the temps, is it game-based on what temperatures I'm getting or setting based? Why do some games get hotter than others? I really enjoy all the games that get up to 90 degrees and it would really be a shame if I had to let go of those to prolong my laptop life, how damaging are 90 degrees and what amount of time with them is acceptable, and how will it affect my laptop life?

its a laptop it will get hot. Im not surprised it got into the 90 range but its still a bit warm. if you can in the bios set the fan speed or with a tool if hp has one for the laptop and if those don't work use speed fan and turn the fans up so the system doesn't overheat and/or thermal throttle. and if you want to void the warranty you could slap some thermal grizzly kryonaught on it and your really feeling it you could liquid metal the thing like linus did to a razor laptop
