[ASUS VG248QE Image Persistence]

Hello, i'm having a issue on image persistence on my Asus monitor. I had it before and it went away, no idea how. I read that it goes away over-time. But what is the most quickest or easier way? I also read up that turning the monitor off for a couple hours will cure it, but by "turning it off" do I unplug the cord? or turn off the PC and have it still turned on, but the "screen" itself is off? 

 

The image is due to the "search" bar from windows 10. Has the outlines of the search bar, and pretty noticeable while playing games. :/
