Hey

So, I've been wanting to play some Minecraft, due to it being a pretty relaxing game after school and such, But would like to dive into some mod packs, I really have 0 clue on what to look for I know the tinkers construct name but have never really played it.

Looking for something that's not to in-depth.

But want the cool ores, weapons and such! But can play in like a normal full world.

Would also like to play on just the Minecraft launcher and not need the technic launcher, Also cant have anything to heavy, using a 1050ti OOF.

Open to any kind of suggestion!

I would look at downloading the Curse launcher and going through a bunch of community made and "official" *modpacks.

I personally like playing a lot of magical mods like Thaumcraft and Botania but i also like to dabble in a lot of tech too.

If you are new to mods then playing something like Tekkit Classic on the Tekkit launcher isn't a bad way to start. Its fun and easy to run as well as being old meaning its simple compared to a lot more of the complex mods released and updated now.

I wouldn't know what is NEW though as I've not played Minecraft in many years and modded even longer.

If you want to lighten the load of Minecraft so that you can add mods and stuff, you can use Optifine

A lot of the really good mods are for older versions of MMinecraft ( such as 1.7 ). I would suggest maybe looking for the older mod showcases from channels such as AntVenom or PopularMMOs

I also really enjoyed the Rival Rebels mod for messing around in creative and the Mutant Creatures mod.

optifart, in recent versions, does a worse job of optimizing than just installing minecraft forge.. i guess that's what happens when you try to push in tons of visual improvements too..

on topic:

few modpacks i've enjoyed in recent times:

- sevtech ("in-depth" is an understatement for this one..)

- pretty much all FTB modpacks, although they do have their specific annoyances.

- "stoneblock" is a recent new take on flipping around how gameplay works, it's a very interesting experience.

in short.. download the "twitch launcher" (previously curse.. long explanation.. it's a twitch desktop application that also does minecraft mods and modpacks), look at what's popular, chances are that's a good modpack.
