Hi guys,

So I was troubleshooting a pc that stopped working 1 or 2 years back. At the time it just didn't boot. But after checking things today I noticed that the 12v was not plugged in.

Now it boots but I get an error saying ntldr is missing.

Next thing is I took the only hdd in that pc and put it in my work pc. Let's call it "ntldr hdd" for now.

First thing I did was let the ntldr hdd be the only hdd in my pc. It boots but gives the same error.

Next thing I did was include my ssd and hdd along with the ntldr hdd. Same error.

I checked the bios next and it defaulted to the ntldr hdd for booting.

Next I tried to switch the boot drive to my hdd but again same error.

.... is the ntldr hdd broken?

drop the hdd in a usb dock instead. then browse it on an already booted machine if you need the contents from it.

Please elaborate. What's a usb dock?

Also they're  all internal drives.

I second this idea. Plug it into a different system and backup anything of importance. Then just reinstall the os again if you want to continue using it. That would take far less time than troubleshooting the boot issue.

well these have been sold for over a decade , they are cheap , and every place on earth that is considered to be "worldwide" has had these shipped to them . so I'd recommend that

I will see if any local stores have this for sale.

Would the ntldr hdd be usable again? Is there any way to format it and use it as a normal drive for storage? That's if it can't be used as a boot drive for windows again.

@emosun@m9x3mos

One more question.

Would it work if I take my hdd with my windows and put it in the other pc (ntldr pc)?

Would it be risky? because I want to make sure that it's just the ntldr hdd that's the problem.

Or is it better to not do so?
