1961Mhz on Core Clock and 5616Mhz on Memory Clock

Around 2GHz is usually as high as pascal GPUs seem to get. You seem to have a good performance just due to GPU boost.

I recently purchased an AORUS 1080ti Extreme 11GB GPU and I am unable to achieve a stable overclock on even the smallest increase to memory or core clock causing my MSI Kombustor and Unigine to crash.

What clock do you get when you only increase the power limit?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

some clock higher than other you may have got that one card that doesn't oc the best but yet others will oc higher.

its like my msi gtx 760 2gb it overclocks very very high and the other one i have exact same model doesn't oc as high as that card.

in the long run each card is comelpty different than the exact same one...

So its possible to get a card that doesn't overclock at all? Even a 10Mhz increase crashes under load. The card is second hand but the previous owner claimed he'd never tried overclocking it.

Yea. The seller can say he didn't but he could have.

Definitely, no complaint about the performance was only concerned that I couldn't overclock it but if it's approaching the limit for pascal cards anyway I'm not too worried.

some cards do cap out under 2ghz, but something weird might be going on here. Though even if you do manage to oc it, the actual performance increase is likely around 2% at most, i wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

And you have to assume the seller did try to oc it because well, it's an extreme edition.

I'm not that worried as I only paid $700AUD for it and it performs amazingly in every other aspect.

Since you're in Australia, and it's an epic heat wave there, what temp is the GPU hitting? Is the PC in an air conditioned room? I didn't see anyone mention thermals, but on Pascal those are critical too, as much as power target. If you can keep the card below 60°C, it will clock higher. Check to see if the the fan curve profile is good too, if you don't mind extra noise you might get a few more FPS from the card.

Yours faithfully

Under load it would never go above 70C and that's with the fans at relatively low RPM but the room it's in can get quite warm. I was considering water-cooling my PC but if I couldn't get any extra performance from my GPU I wasn't going to bother.
