Planning a system build and stuck between choosing the two GPU's listed in title. Both similar price in UK. On paper the AMD 7950 looks a much better card and obviously has the game bundle with it... but have read a bit into frame latencies and was wondering if anyone who owns a recent AMD card could comment on how noticeable it is. I know it is a very objective thing down to each user, but I am very sensitive to screen tare and DPS drops.

Thanks for any replies (First post on Linustechtips :D - long time subscriber!!)

Frame latency is a multi-GPU issue with both AMD & Nvidia, AMD has it worse though.

Dynamic V-Sync with the RadeonPro utility has been shown to be very effective in lessening or completely eliminating micro-stutter on crossfire setups.

The 7950 boost is currently just as fast as a 670 & faster than a 680 when overclocked + more RAM & wider memory buss + free games = a great buy.

Thanks for all of your responses. Will most likely go with the 7950 ( not starting build for at least a month or so due to money), always owned Nvidia cards in past due to the drivers, but atm AMD seems best bang for buck by a long way. Just had the one worry with frame latencies which this thread has managed to put my mind at rest. :D
