So I have 2 Dell laptops, Both are running 4th gen intels. One is an i5 and the other is an i7

I only have on mSATA. What i've been doing and it seems to be working is moving it between the laptops when I want to go to school (Ultrabook) and when I want to game (Dedicated GU laptop)

My question is will it backfire on me somehow? so far when I swap them there a screen that says getting devices ready on the initial boot after the swap but then it loads fine, I've been doing this for a few weeks now a couple times a week.

*EDIT* it's windows 10 pro if that makes a difference

Yes the mSata is the only drive

windows could backfire you in some ways, but I personally never experienced them and i've swapped my hdd between many pc's, laptops of all kinds, from 2006 to 2016, from pc to laptop. It's luck or not

Probably the only thing that can happen is that windows can deactivate itself at some point.

I was thinking that because everything about the system is changing, but if it does on well I only have to look at the watermark.

thank you for the insite. I don't keep sensitive data that cant be replaced on it. Plue if it does I find it very calming to reimage a computer

Yes! If it is only for Windows, it can be disabled ... But if it never did, it may never happen, just do not run the activation troubleshooter.
