So on eBay I've noticed a flood of 2011 Xeon processors. I've been needing a copy for my future gaming rig and I have a list of some that I want to know what would work best.

Xeon X5675

Xeon X5650

Xeon E7 4870

And I will list more as time goes on. I am going to pair the processor with a run of the mill GTX 1060 6GB dual fan card from PNY.

What do you mean by 2011 CPUs

It's not the year, most of these predate 2011

It's not the socket, most are 1366

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Well derp but ok...

If you have a different socket and CPU currently then what is it? We'd be able to advise better if we knew

None. I just want to build a budget rig with an Intel cpu. Preferably getting the cpu (even used) for under $50 USD

Oh in that case just get the highest clock speed possible, avoiding anything that's 4 cores no HT

https://ark.intel.com

Use Intel ark to directly compare CPUs, there's a little check mark that says "add to compare" and you can search the site to add CPUs to the list. It's super convenient.

Also, yeah if you want a CPU under $50 you're gonna be getting used.

Hey so what about this Xeon E5 2637 V2. Looks kinda similar to a more modern i7.

High clocks are pretty good, but that one is actually LGA 2011 which means it's probably gonna need a somewhat expensive motherboard. What's your budget for that?

Also, most people won't see your responses unless you quote them so make sure you do that.

So lga 2011 boards aren't too expensive. And both the motherboard and CPU will be cheaper than a ryzen 3 2200g (original idea)

Then yeah if you secure that and some DDR3 then you're set. 2011 has some 6 core options as well, I'd consider an i7 from that generation if you can because they overclocked pretty well.

X79 is a high end desktop chipset for the 2011 socket. The 3930k should be in that CPU family, it's a beloved processor.

Ok sorry, no need to get angry hehe.  You can get a 6700k for 120 bucks.  OC it and it will smoke a Xeon.
