Wait for Maxwell. I doubt Broadwell will improve your gaming performance by much considering it takes a beast of a GPU for the CPU to bottleneck it.

I would build now, the 800 probably won't be too much of a performance increase and will probably cost more

But you might regret it if they are great and you just bought a 700 card

I'm thinking about doing a build within 3-5 months. Is it worth waiting any longer for the 800 series for nvidia and possibly another intel series?

Well the problem is, there is always new stuff coming up...

When the new Broadwell CPUs are out, the Haswell - E CPUs will come soon after that and soon after them there will be another CPU Generation already waiting to be released. Same goes for GPUs and every other part btw, not only CPUs :P

Just build now, if you need it now!

I would build now, always remember that, even if new products get released next week, what you buy today will not suddenly become obsolete..

I have a 560ti + fx-6120. Would you consider that needing it now? I got this last year. It's a HP mod computer and I've never built a PC before.

Well it basically comes down of what are you doing with it. :) If you want to play some BF4 on normal settings at 1080p you dont need to upgrade at all.

If you want to do some crazy triple surrond 4K gaming, I think there will be no way around upgrading :P

To add onto this statement, prices usually drop for the "older" cards when the "newer" cards come rolling in because everyone is buying the new cards and most retailers just want it gone from their warehouses.

It depends on how much of a rush you are in and how much you need to get an upgrade now.
