So I am new and just starting to get into the tech world. I currently have a Surface pro 4 that evidently I spent a lot of money on and didn't plan on upgrading for a while. However, I am an architecture major and it is not really up to the challenge of rendering projects, model building, and just recently I started experimenting with VR systems and Unreal Engine.

So my question is if there was any way I could just get an external graphics station for my laptop/tablet and just use that?? Also my laptop does not have a thunderbolt port, so would it even be possible or would it just be easier and more beneficial to buy a new laptop with more power and a better graphics card??

Thank You!

Would you have any suggestions for a new laptop? something that would last through school but won't be to expensive maybe?
