Micro-stutter , frametime spikes.

ive been suffering with random micro stutter/frametime spikes that seem to be related to my cpu/gpu usage dropping as you can see in the picture graph provided.

 

its happening in most games such as r6s, gta5 but it doesnt spike in doom and the witcher 3 strangely and i cant seem isolate ther problem as it happens totally randomly.

 

my specs are

 

8600k 4.8ghz ( tried stock still happens)

1070 (tried stock still happens)

asus prime 370 a

16gb 3200mhz

2x samung 860 evo 500gb

corsair ax860

 

gaming at 1080p 144hz.

 

any help would be greatly appreciated as its driving me crazy.

do you have chrome in open in the background?

no i use firefox, and when i game i have the bare minimun open. i will just have steam, the game, and msi after burner running

full screen or windowed in your games?

what cooler are you using for your cpu?

is you power plan set to performance?

also 3200mhz ram is an OC. have you tried with ram set to 2133. or just disable xmp?

hyper evo 212 temps never go above 60c so it cant be a temp problem.

i recently replaced my ram as i thought that could be the problem but the micro stutter has surfaced again, ill try setting my new sticks to 2133 and report back

right okay it still micro stuttered in gta5 with stock ram settings BUT ive discovered if i clock my cpu to 5ghz with 1.35v the micro sutter doesnt happen ( i think at least, its hard to tell due to the nature of the randomness) maybe my 4.8 @ 1.25v wasnt stable even tho it  pasted 4 hours of realbench and aida64.

 

what do you think?

just because a OC holds doesn't mean it will yield best performance. sometime going up helps. but not always. trial and error
