[video] Time Lapse Corsair Vengeance C70, i7 4770k, GTX 770k

jam3s121

Hi guys, I wanted to make a build log for this build but I realized that I am not the type of person that would slowly build a pc. I know a lot of people order parts week by week when they get there paychecks and go all out but instead I went to microcenter and bought almost all my parts that were needed for this new rig. Was much cheaper than newegg or amazon.

This is a time lapse build, pictures are shot at 2second internvals with my camera (not a dslr so quality is not amazing).

I bought from MC
I7 4770k
Gigabyte Z87 UD4H (Never a fan of red pc's but i love this board, brushed red metal look!)
Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB 1866mhz 2x4gb
Corsair C70 Case
SP120 Fans for H100

Prior to that big purchase I had bought
Plextor MP5 Extreme from MC In October 2013
GTX 770 from Amazon in October 2013
Seasonic X 750 PSU From Newegg 2012
H100

For Christmas I recieved a few parts for this build from my family and girlfriend

Seagate Backup 1TB USB 3.0 Drive
Lamptron FC5v3 Fan Controller (love this thing, very bright display and can finally fine tune my fans.

In terms of finishing this build

I still need to get my sleeved cables, need to get some air flow case fans.. either phobya nb eloops or corsair AF120's, step up to gtx 780. Also planning on a 144hz monitor soon and custom watercooling possibly once I return to work. This build was bought with a insurance check for injuring myself and needing surgery (thanks aflac, mom & dad)

I will update the rig occassionally when I get new parts in. Thanks for viewing. I made this post because linus has helped me so much in learning about computers.

Thanks for the replies!I actually bought the high static pressure fans. The Lamptron fc5v3 does a great job keeping them quiet. At 1950 rpm or higher they are pretty loud, but at 1700 they are not noticeable. I've noticed these fans don't buzz like other fans did attached to my old nzxt mesh fan controller.

In a few i will add some of the better photo's I've taken of the build. I must say c70 is nowhere near as big as my older switch 810 but cable routing was incredibly easier with the way the motherboard tray molds in and outward as well as those latches. Corsair did a good job using the space of this case behind the tray properly. I know you can fit a 360 rad on top but it will lose a little bit of airflow, thats my only big complaint.

Since installing everything I got a nice 4.6ghz overclock on my i7 4770k, temps average 70 with aida64 and x.264 20 pass test. I also ran bf4 for good measure and everything appeared stable.

More pictures

Cable Management, only used zip ties that came with the case and the case latches. No bulge with back panel at all

This one is a little dark, it looks like a mess but the panel goes on perfectly and very little cables are shown on the windowed side

Pic of everything facing up, I like this one although the white balance is not set correctly.. my dads led lights for his fish tank throw everything off and I forget to switch it back.

nice shot inside my case with side panel window on, its about this bright but the color white is more cool white. My girlfriend got me this - White CCFL Light Bar and it was way to bright facing downward onto my case, it illuminated all the very tiny dust particles on the case. I made it so the light actually faces a the wall of the case and it still provides the perfect amount of light. I didn't set my white balance correctly.

Nice work on the build. I really like the style of the videos too, I've always had a soft spot for time-lapse video. :)
