Hello everybody. Hope you have a great day.

I'm facing this weird problem and I'm not sure if it's common or not?

Probably u got tired of hearing about it, but I searched on youtube and on some forums for a solution but couldn't find anything.

I have a really high CPU usage around 80% to 90% but my GPU barely hit 12% most of the time. The highest GPU usage was 25% and it was a one-time thing. I have no idea how to deal with or what to do.

(I play on 1440p with 165hz)

Thank you for your time.

My spec:

I7-4770k clocked @4.4 GHz with (Asrock easy tuning in the bios)(cleared cmos but didn't help)

32 GB of ddr3 ram 1600mhz (Kingston)

Gigabyte AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition 11GB Graphic Cards GV-N108TAORUS X-11GD

i see you're getting 96 FPS in GTA V, i don't understand what's going on, there's no way that the GPU is only at 15% while you're getting 96 FPS.

are you checking GPU usage in Task Manager while the game is minimized? that's not how you do that

alright. it can be a few different factors... so what resolution do you play at? and also what CPU and GPU do you have? i dont like reading lol

so this it can be your motherboard restricting it, (although this is not normal ) i would say it is probably your GPU not getting a proper workout. try to turn up Graphics  setting, this is a unbalanced GPU to CPU ratio i would guess.

First of all, for the love of god turn on XMP. 1600 is already slow for GTA 5, but having it run 1333 is just bad.

Second of all, use MSI afterburner OSD. You could be monitoring the iGPU of the i5.

if you turn up the settings, and your gameplay is smoother, then this would be it.

Apparently windows task manager is not good choice to check gpu usage

I just saw on afterburner that the gpu usage on overwatch is around 50%
