The thing with Be Quiet! is that you can't find them everywhere.

Probably the most dissapointing thing about Be Quiet! products. They seem so limited. But yeah, I support the above suggestions but wouldn't mind saying that EVGA is pretty good value. Not really sure how terrible they really are (maybe they have cheap chinese transistors and that's why the PSUs cost so much less).

Just as a note, most of the "premium" Corsair power supply units are re-branded Seasonic - so you're looking at insane quality either way you go.

My favourite (as far as looks and power go) is the AX860i - something about it makes me shudder

Any 80+ Bronze or up will do. I like BeQuiet though, but it really doesn't matter that much.

Hey whats the best 550W-600W PSU in terms of reliability and energy saving PSU

Thanks

I wouldn't just go with "anything from -insert brand here-", as while certain brands does have some excellent PSUs in their line up, they can include some poor, mediocre PSUs as well. The branding alone doesn't necessary dictate if it is a good unit or not. Not to mentioned that you may be ignoring some great PSUs from other brands as well.

It would be helpful to know what is your budget, where are you able to buy from (provide links), and what will you be powering. This way we can give you an appropriate recommendation base on needs and availiablity.

A lot of people tend to overestimate their requirement, so that's why I had asked what you will be powering. But if you set on getting 550w, you are able to power a GTX 780 rig with that.

:

A good power supply in the £80 budget range would be the Cooler Master V550S: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooler-Master-Modular-SERIES-Supply/dp/B00FH8UA7S

or Seasonic G SSR-550RM: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-018-SS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2383

Thanks guys, I did a psu calc and it said 505w PSU is more than enough, so I just rounded the number up to 550w. I have a 880w PSU Atm but its a bit overkill, does having a psu closer to the power needed make it more power efficent?

Here is the PSU I have atm : http://www.amazon.co.uk/HEC-Compucase-G7-Power-Extreme/dp/B009LJIQI4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1389782752&sr=8-4&keywords=g7+psu  It didnt even come with a cable.

Runs fine although never heard of G7 I bought it because back when I built my first I thought "MOAR POWER" so I got the cheapest and highest Wattage one I could find  Again thanks for the replies everyone
