You could probably save some on the cpu and go down to a i5 unless your doing alot of video/picture editing and all that jass! And yeah spending 3000 on a pc is overkill. Then again, you live in Australia and prices are almost worse there then here in Norway. So if money is not a concern then sure. However take and i5 and get some more storage on the SSD for games, games on ssd is debatable but having them loading faster is a pluss in my book.

I once explained to my girlfriend what true love is. I said, "If you were a shit, I'd put you back in" and to this day, she is still my little shit.

My first advice, dont spend 3000 dollar on a pc.

You don't get as much for the same money in Australia as in the U.S so spending 3000 AUD on a computer is not wild at all ;) And don't even get me started on Norwegian pricing...

Reasons:

The FX8320 is far more bang for buck and performs better than a 4670K in some aspects without losing out much if any at all others.

You do not need the Black Drive for performance, any 7200RPM will perform similarly.

The 780Ti is of a bad value for the price, and you are also not getting vRAM benefits for multi monitor setups.

The HX 750 is chosen because it is a good unit using Japanese Caps, unlike the RM750 which uses cheap low quality capacitors like TEAPOs or CapXons which can potentially blow up and bring the entire system with it.

Mostly agree with you, but you are wrong on 2 things.

1) The FX8320 is faster in some select few games then the 4670K, but only if you OC the shit out of it and it will get slaughtered in the games it ain't better at. Games that depends on FPU in specific.

2) The CS, CX,, TX, RM and GS PSUs had a case of bad capacitors a while back, but bad propaganda took care of that so they are using higher quality ones now :)

Other then that: Good build although I may not agree with all of the products chosen.

was looking at graphics cards and is there a major difference between the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB OC Edition to the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 3GB GHz Edition? the price is cheaper but what is the performance difference like?

you don't need to be a genius to know that this is a lot better than your buld. bigger ssd, better cpu, better gpu's. the only major thing that I changed was the monitor. still don't know why you need that fancy monitor. anyway, I added a similar one :)

  • Added memory.
  • Changed hdd.
  • Changed psu to one that is better and slightly less expensive. It is also smaller but more than adequate for the system.
  • Changed case. Not as fancy but is an excellent, versatile case that isn't as expensive.

I'd wait for a G-Sync Monitor (if you go for nvidia). And dont go 1080p, grab yourself a nice IPS - Panel 1440p Monitor as a 780 Ti or dual r9 290x wont excel much at 1080p, they really start to shine at higher resolutions like 1440p or even 4K. If you want to game at 1080p, grab yourself a r9 280x or a gtx 760/770 and save yourself some money...

If you really neeed the 120Hz and you dont care about colors, there are also some nice TN - Panel 144Hz 1440p G-Sync gaming monitors coming. I remember ASUS showed a ROG class Monitor at CES that had exactly these features.
