Windows 7 Problem

Currently booting to windows 7. Stops when the 4 bubbles come up and then finally crashes and restarts itself. Does anyone know any fix

What are your specs?

 

If it's anything newer than Skylake, you'll have some trouble booting to Windows 7.

Did you try safe mode? Did you change anything in BIOS, like from ACPI to RAID or UEFI boot mode?

Try booting in safe mode. Spam F8, (F8,F8.....)  when you restart you comp, until you boot to the menu for safe mode. You can do repair or safe mode

AMD Athlon XP 2500+

1.5 GB Ram

40GB hdd

I have tried

It crashes at Classjag.sys

Could be your drive going bad. Can you test it in another system, or try a drive you have lying around in it?

That's not very descriptive. You tried to get into safe mode, and failed?

Or you got in?

Or you got to the safe mode prompt but the system still reboots?

I have tried and it failed

Can you get into the Bios

 

One thing you might try is clearing the Cmos . The Cmos is were any changed to the bios is made and keep distinct from main bios.

 

Look in you Mb owner manual on how to do it

 

Or you may try as last option to reinstall Win7

You are new here, so I'm going to give you a piece of friendly advice, ok?

The more info you can give us, the better we can help you.

We can't read your mind or know your system unless you tell us.

Give us some history, what happened before this occurred, what were you doing? Have you looked at the caps, to see if any failed? The system sounds like it's old, it might be a hardware failure.

If you can get into the BIOS , the basic system should be ok.

 

Try clearing the Cmos.

 

But for me, I would try doing a clean install of Window7. It may be some drivers or window itself was out of wack

Have you look in your Owner manual of your MB

 

Do you know what MB you have.

 

How often do you do a clean install of Windows?

It's also entirely possible you have a failing hard drive....hence the sudden reboot in both "normal" and "safe" mode.

Maxtor should have hard drive tools to check the health of your drive. I'd run those (bootable CD-ROM or possible USB) and see if your drive is ok

That Maxtor is an IDE drive, released in 2005.....that should give you some idea of the age

and the CPU was released in 1999....
