Gpu stopping computer from booting

Jordancj

I have just built my new PC I tried to boot it for the first time but I got nothing not even a screen asking for a bit device. I was a little worried but then I unplugged my gpu a gigabyte 1050ti which then when I booted up it asked me to reboot and select a boot device so I have now idea why it is doing this

PS the fans will spin on startup but they are smart fans so they stop after a couple of seconds

You might need to change the default video output, some motherboards have that is a feature.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

So your computer works without the GPU, correct? Leave the GPU out and set everything up first and update all drivers.

You might also just have your video cable (hdmi or display port) plugged into the motherboard instead of the GPU (simple mistake).

Have you tried tapping the DEL key repeatedly while it's turning on? (like literally right after you hit the power button to turn it on). I think when it asked me to select a boot device, it gave me the option to boot into BIOS.

That worked I then went into the bios and then exited it. I put my graphics card back in the plugged the hdmi cable into that and it is working now so I am not to sure what was wrong but thank you all for the support and help
