The GPU has a hard limit on how much voltage you can give it. From what I gather it's 1.093V.

 

You have to modify the firmware or hardware (it's not clear what's doing the hard limit) to push past that.

so if i set the added voltage in msi afterburner to a high percentage it still is limited to a safe level by card hardware/firmware?
