Reinstalling Windows questions

cs95

I built my pc around 3 years ago and have decided to do a fresh windows install on my SSD, however I have a couple of games and programmes I'd rather not have to download again which are on my SSD. Is there a way I can move everything onto another of my hard drives so I don't have to re-download all my stuff again?

If they are games in a library system (Steam, Origin, etc), then you can easily move the library folder to another drive, and Steam/Origin will find them or can be pointed to them after a new install.

As for programs... not sure if things like MS Office, Adobe, etc can, since you usually need to install and make registry entries.

I don't see why not. Do you have limited space on said drive? if not, make a zipped (compressed) then copy it in there to temporarily reduce size.

I have a 240gb ssd which is nearly full. I got a 2tb drive last year and moved my games to it but id rather keep the ssd for windows and a select few programmes as opposed to the random stuff i have on it now. plus i think after 3 years a fresh install will be good .

Sounds good. how many steam/ origin games do you have total in size?
