Hello guys and gals,

I'm saving up for a GTX 1080 or GTX 1080 Ti but pricing are outrageously high right now.

I'm new to the GPU market and would like to game and watch movies in 4k this year.

What's your opinion on GPU pricing this year?  Will it continue to go up but start declining??

When is a good time to buy?

Is it better to wait OR buy now with used GPU if a good deal can be found?

Just keep scouring the used markets, a good deal will pop up to be nabbed.

You'll need a 1080Ti to game in 4k, unless you want to lower settings for the 1080.

The 1080 and 1080ti are EOL, so these aren't produced anymore, and their supply is lower by the minute. That is why the new cards are more and mroe expensive.

You can either buy 1080 and 1080ti used, or you can buy rtx2070/2080 new.

Only buy the gtx 1080, if it is cheaper than rtx 2070, and 1080ti if it is cheaper than rtx2080.

Rtx 2080 and rtx 2070 are the next gen replacements for 1080ti and 1080.

If you are lucky and can find a rtx2080ti, it is even more powerful.

And as @jstudrawa said, you need either gtx1080ti, rtx2080, or rtx 2080ti for proper 4k gaming, otherways you are gonna need to drop the graphics quality settings by a lot.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Plenty of deals for used cards right now.

In sure those prices Rice’s will do down in time.

Dont see a reason for new card prices to drop. Seem fine where they are.
